Combined charts in excel

I’m doing some combined data charts in excel.  I have separate semi-related bar and line charts that I wanted to combine into one graph.  I found the following tutorial extremely helpful:

Big thanks to Diego M. Oppenheimer for the post.

It’s about the journey

Okay, I’m going to get reflective and somber here.  If you’re not in the mood for a downer, move on.

Have you ever stopped to think about some of the people you’ve met in your life?  I’m not talking about the clerk at the local grocery store.  No, I’m talking about the people you’ve met, but only briefly gotten to know.  Maybe its the neighbor that you give a waive as you drive by or share an minute with discussing the weather or sports team.  A classmate that you’ve collaborated with in a class, but never shared a beer with them. It’s that sort of relationship that is more an acquaintance, but not necessarily a friend.

These people are part of the journey in our lives.  We see them or speak with them infrequently, but some how they remain memorable enough.  Some have found ways to briefly enrich our lives, give new perspective on our lives, or bring grief/pain to our lives.  But only for a few moments our journeys intertwine and then continue their separate ways.

Installing DDD on RedHat 5.4

Recently I’ve been using GDB to debug an application and wanted to use DDD for a better experience (no I’m not interested in using Eclipse).  I ran into some dependency issues on a pretty basic RedHat 5.4 box and I wanted to share them with you.

Android 2.3 released, but only basic SIP

I took a cursory glance at the newly release Android 2.3 SDK. There’s one item that immediately caught my attention, the addition of SIP.

My impression is that it is a very basic SIP stack. There’s not much to it. Create your session, tell it who you want to talk to (URI), make the audio call. What I don’t see (or it’s not readily apparent to me) is a way to easily extend the class to add to or modify the SDP. If I’m wrong, please correct me.

Doesn’t seem to support video. Doesn’t seem to allow use of different or custom media streams.
